Spekkie Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 We (Mrs. S & myself) recently started cycling. Having only done the van Gaalen track, we found it n bit rough for newbies as ourselves. Since my little home built plane is hangered at Aviators Paradise, part of Langplaas farm, it didn't take long before we started to ride around the farm.The farm owner, Oom Gert said he would welcome cyclers to use the farm roads around the irrigation pivots. Only requirements are to stay out the lands, and keep an eye out for farm vehicles that use the roads as it is a working farm. Must add, I have only encountered a moving tractor once in six weeks over a weekend. Attached is a Google earth map. You can basically go anywhere, even down to the Krokedil river on the north eastern corner of the farm. Just stay out of the lands.What make it nice is the fact that we do not have to contend with road users, and it is kid friendly.I will add some paths to the map soon. Aviators Paradise has a club house with restaurant, toilet facilities, showers, safe parking and lots of water to wash your bike if you braved some mud along the way.This is for the family and not for guys like Seth from "Seth's bike hacks". Although there are a couple of unexplored quarries! Entrance is free, only indemnity is required before you get going.Quads and motorbikes strictly forbidden.Everyone welcome!Aviators Paradise is situated east of the R512, between the old Rustenburg road and the N4.
