The 100th Giro d'Italia

Was not all the motorbike rider's fault. Riders did not warn the others following of a problem.

Can't park your moto on a narrow-ish climb finalè

Riders can't always warn while they're fighting each other in a pained effort

The course is supposed to be closed for racing and not a obstacle course

He's a time trial demon

Great stage at last. And as a bonus the best Sky rider lost 5 minutes.

Not so big any more. Class bike rider, no matter his size.

19 cm taller than Quintana and 12kg heavier. But yes I take your point. 186cm tall and weighing 70kg is flipping skinny.

⚠️⚠️⚠️

"It’s ridiculous," begins the Sky rider.

"That shouldn’t happen. We were all racing to the bottom of the climb, and next thing I know someone hits a moto and we go down. My shoulder popped out as well. I felt good but then I crashed and that was it – race over.

As for what his hopes now are for this Giro: "I don't know. It’s too early to think about that at the moment. Just let it settle down. I’m a bit angry at the minute. We need to sit down and work out what we're going to do."

"We were just sticking to the plan we had from the start. We wanted to take it up from far out and we carried on with that. It's really bad luck for them [sky]."

Great race today. Movistar just to strong for the others today.

Pity about the motorbike incident; would have been interesting to see if the result would have been any different.

Pinot impressive with his ride. Always thought he displayed more balls than brains but today's ride proved otherwise.

As for Tejay and Rolland; i doubt we'll be seeing them finish in the top 6 in any of the tours going forward

"We knew that this stage could go well. We worked all day, we were up for it, and we made a good selection. Then I gave it everything."

Nibali is trying something new today for this fearsome closing climb -- 38xI30. He has used it in training but never before in a race.

Aah... i don't recall seeing him get out of the saddle in the last 7 or so km's.

Bad tactical choice?

“I’m feeling **** because we lost Wilco. Wilco was feeling very good and i was really comfortable with him. Now I cannot be happy today because he would have been be so important in the final week and I’m really disappointed for him. My own performance was good, and I’m happy with that, but losing Wilco is a real shame.

"I don't know what the stupid motorbike was doing there. I’m so disappointed. I could just avoid it, I saw it at the last moment but I was luck that I was 2cm to the right of Wilco. They say it happens but it shouldn't happen."

Froome? Are you kidding? How many Tour De France winners have you see sprinting awkwardly up a hill without a bike?

If I wanted to watch running I'd watch the Diamond League.

Nairo clearly read what I posted and made me eat my words haha.

On a more serious note he looked super strong and super comfy. Dumoulin might be the man to watch though because of the time trials but I think Nairo can put more time into his competitors on another mountain stage if he really wants to. Will be interesting to see his strategy going forward.
