Hang on OP... you said a few posts back that you sold a bike that was still under a finance agreement to get the $$ for this one? I strongly suggest you go and immediately settle that finance arrangements. Normally such finance contracts make the financier the title holder of the item until it is paid off. That means you don't own it so you can't legally sell it. The financier relies upon you to retain and make use of the item because it is his security if you fail to make scheduled payments.

Not sure the terms of your finance agreement but you may be obligated to settle the remaining debt ASAP.

Hey I'll be the first to admit I'm not perfect. I've made many a wrong decision in my life.

Just settle it so the bike shop can't use it to complicate the dispute.....

So here's an update. So the seller told me that he can organise a replacement frame with Cube. Then I would have a brand spanking new frame....Pity the front wheel still wouldn't fit into the fork.

Then I was offered a brand new Cube bike.... But only if I send back the other bike at my expense then pay in R5000 on top of the R15000 I already paid them for the first bike.

Then I was told to send back the bike at my expense while only being paid back some of the money I gave them and once they have inspected the bike and are happy that I really did replace the parts that I said I did then they'll give me back the rest. That's a weird one though because why couldn't they inspect the bike before they sent it to me.

If you couldn't count on them the first time, why will they come through for you now? Better get that on paper.

Nice bike, but it's not like I have 5k lying around....If I had 20K to start with...well, then this thread would probably not exist.

Wow - story gets better...selling a financed bike to buy a piece of rubbish...

Surely if you're going to buy a bike on finance you'd buy (or make double sure) the right size the first time?

Thats a bit harsh

Whats the Specs? I mean if the bike is worth 35k, and you can get it for R20k, why not?

Pretty sure that ship has sailed when I forwarded the dealer a link to this forum to ask them to comment their side of the story and was told I'm not being "fair"

They will not comment here unless you name them
