Hi there

Looking to buy a reliable entry level mountain bike, purely for fitness reasons.  Interested in getting a 29er for around R3000 - R5000. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Look at 2nd hand. Im new but as far as i know from lowest. Shimano Acera, alivio, deore. Go look for a bike in that bracket that has the most of the best components. I really dont think you get good parts on a bad bike. Im also looking at. Bike in that bracket for my wife. It never ends at just fitness. That was my original idea a 2 weeks ago. Im even getting spare rims for different tyres now. Brands i looked at were. Silverback, merida, gt, giant, scott(expensive), titan, axiz. Axiz seems very cheap.

Also try and get air shocks and hydrolic disk brakes

exactly as above if you just want a fitness bike buy a good spec used 26er off the classifieds

eg:

https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/215418-scott-duelsus-shimano-xt-rockshox-mint-conditio/

you will get a better bike for that money as a used 26 er

if you even find a new 29er at that price it will be hypermarket junk ie goed koop is duur koop ne ^_^
