Should I Buy This? (Hydration Pack)

Morning all.

Saw a special on the Osprey Viper 5 for a very good price. Wanted a hydration pack for a long time now, so should I go for it or rather take something else.

Thanks for the help.

Nothing wrong with osprey. Saw a special on takealot today. Not sure if that's the same special you are referring to. I think Solomons also have hydrapacks on special now.

Osprey is good quality stuff. The price is good. But this is quite a small pack. My Camelbak Lobo is 3litre bladder plus 6 litre storage for comparison. It can fit a light jacket, pump, one or two snacks, your phone, keys, spare tube and basic trailside tools. Thats it. Good for 3 to 4 hour rides.

For all day exploring missions where you may want to carry more clothing and food and maybe a camera etc. a bigger pack would be better. The little ones become a bit uncomfortable if you stuff them too full.

Yes, if it meets your requirements.

The Viper 5 only has a 2L bladder, I have the Viper 9 which has a 3L bladder.

I was a CamelBak fan for years until I discovered Osprey.

I am on my second Osprey pack now and I very happy with it.

Very good quality and comfortable, I have had zero issues with mine...and cheaper than CamelBak.

Replacement hoses and bladders are also easy.to find.

And at that price...whats not to like?
