Second Hand Market pricing

What I don't like is that some of the resellers lie about the product they then want to resell. There was a really nice Dogma here sometime ago, for a great price. The guy who bought it relisted it a few days later, adding about 10k I think. He claimed that he was selling "Because he had too many bikes"

I mean, come on dude, get a life and an honest way to do bussiness. I don't like the idea of buying cheap stuff on BH and then reselling, no matter the price. I feel that a lot of people buy secondhand for the bargains. Resellers take that element away.

There's nothing 'wrong' with it, but I don't feel comfortable with the idea.

Yeah, to get to the old example of Mr Christmas Tree. He's lingering here somewhere under a new name.

A buddy of mine had a brakeset that needed TLC, advertised and sold it for R250 (or a similar ridiculous amount) and Mr Tree bought it, and used his same advert picture to try and resell it for 3x the value before the item even reached him..

My buddy was clear in stating that the brakes needed TLC, the second hubber simply claimed "in good working condition" and wanted a proper 200% profit. That's not right.

However, just because the Rand was R7/1$ in 2011 doesn't mean because you paid R200 for a carbon handlebar in 2011 that you can't sell it for R500 now...

Cyclelab (trade in) work on 50% original purchase price and 5% road, 10% MTB for each year after.

Now that is a very sensible way of valuing a used bike.

The MrXmasBoom needs to be rated accordingly.

Admin also has a responsibility to keep their classifieds clean, and if people get bad ratings and comeback under a new name, it should be exposed. Like banned members creating new accounts.....
