smaller dj spots to start?

No. You can't see G Land from any Stellenbosch access roads.

 

It's in Tarentaal road in the park/greenbelt.

G-land is probably not for you, it is a spot that works very well for beginners, but you have already ticked that box - rather go to the recognised dj spots in Cape Town, some of which have smaller lines that the brakeless bmx guys use.  Speak to the trail crew guys - also to David? who has taken over the building at the UCT jumps - all super nice guys.  There are a number of semi secret spots that each builder looks after, but if you are willing to fix and build - they would have no issues letting you jump.

 

Go when the guys session there - to see what speed they use and lines they take can be very helpful. 

 

Somebody mentioned Bel Aire, it has got some massive jumps, but there are also lines that are smaller - and most spots have a trick jump which you should be able to take.  Crash friendlier. 

 

The dj scene is very small - and the guys are very supportive - make some buddies :)

I've already got permission from jonty to ride potato trails,

these jumps at bel aire dont look to big,or is this the noob line in the vid?
