Best road helmet under 2k?

So, my kask broke last weekend. Really bummed! Luckily, it's holding together with some super glue. The two small screws that hold the rear cradle snapped off. But it's about three years old now so I suppose it's time to replace the old girl.

Now, I've absolutely loved the kask, the fit is impeccable, yet the sweat build up on the forehead was a let down.

I paid 1750 back then, but I see they've shot up to around 2600, maybe 2400 if you get lucky.

So, whats the best value heathen for road use, under 2k?

I can get the salice Levante aero road helmet for 2K, as well as the ghibli. I like the built in little LED, but the fit wasn't wonderful. Although I might just be too used to the Kask right now to have given it a fair go.

Anyone have experience with aero road helmets? How hot do you get in these things?

Alternatively, any good deals out there?

Oh, and by the way, I'm terribly partial to white helmets!

Would your head hold together with superglue??

Bin the helmet before you hit the deck again.

Spend the r600 more and get another Kask.

never ever skimp on safety equipment, get the safest helmet available.

Dunno about road helmets, but I really like what Kali, or maybe it was Kabuto, has been doing

I think you're misunderstanding the seriousness of the break. It wasnt damaged in a fall. While ousting it ok my head, and then adjusting the reward cradle, the two small screws that allow for rear adjustment broke off.

So right now, in this case, the superglue probably is safer, as those screws would have broken off in a crash anyway.

And I get your point. The kask is a lovely helmet, but I cant bring myself to spend that kinda money on one just yet. And I want to look at other options due to the sweaty forehead scenario.

Some nice uvex Lids at cycle lab for about 1600

Was eyeing those out, but no chance of fitting them. Was thinking the spez propero would be good, RRP sits at 1600 too. Looks like the best option right now. Still curious about those aero Road helmets tho too!

Also look at eagle canyon cycles . They have some cratoni helmets which are super comfy and cheap . Also safety rates as high as the high end helmets so they are a good buy .

I've had a cratoni before, was actually right before I got the kask. My issue with them was Sizing. To get the helmet to fit, I had to use the thicker pads they provided, and those became sweat reservoirs, pouring sweat into your face if you changed your head position.

Otherwise a great helmet, fantastic quality.

ASG are having 50% off all their helmets. Just bought another Windmax that retails for R3799 normally and picked it up for R1899

that retail price is inflated, real price is with the discount........old marketing trick that
