I never wear baggies on the road bike! Thor you're going to ruin my reputation. If i changed my hubname it would be Quagga... cos of my zebra striped top.

For rhose interested the profiles on the trailseeker website are accurate. I have it in writing from them.

I also had a fun ride at Paul Cluver this weekend with two mates. One arrived in baggies and I think he needs to change his Hubname.

Enjoy everyone going - and lets us know how much climb it ended up being.

Y'know I do wish they wouldn't do this kind of thing. Messes with my head. My riding mate has already entered the 45 leaving me to decide if I'm going to downgrade or not. At the moment ..... I'm still in - I'll give a detailed account of my suffering after it's over.

I also wanted to go stay there with the family but there's not a bed to be had anywhere.

Anyone still need to enter?

I'm sick and not going to make it  :(

Can substitute the entry (confirmed with Advendurance). Make me an offer.

It was hot. Garmin recorded 36 degrees.

72k with 1285 m of climbing is pretty much my limit on a MTB at the moment. The announcer played a funny trick on us - telling us it was 1700. I fumed when he told us - I worried until we joined the 20k route with 17 to go and then I knew he was playing the fool - maybe because quite a few of us emailed to check that the advertised elevation was correct.

It was - well done trailseeker people - it makes a big difference to the the 5 hour plus crowd.

Very good water points - excellent directions on the trail - enough toilets!!! (yay).

Lovely route too - demanding without being impossible with a nice dose of easy in the middle.

I suffered quite a bit.

It was lekker.

I'll do it again next year.

Chirp of the day overheard from somewhere behind me "No man - give me a road bike anyday"

You are definitely in a different league to me. I can't see myself suffering in that heat for 5 hours. I suffered just waiting for my sons and wife to come in.

My oldest son had a bad day on the bike. He said he felt flat from the get go. Clearly the XCO from Thursday was still in his body.

It was my wife's first 40+km race. She suffered, and came in at around 3h43 for the Half.

BTW, I sat this one out since I have not yet recovered from my nasal infection, and I really want to do next week's Tru Cape.
