Or you could save a lot of bucks in the long run and invest in a tool box that comes with most of the stuff you need. Some of the sets actually have decent quality tools. But some are also crap.

There's that option as well and have looked at those, but hell they're expensive

Thanks ChrisF [emoji1303][emoji1303] perhaps i should start off with the very least the chain cleaner, chain lubricant and a chain checker. Then build the rest up as and when i can. DIY a chain breaker while i'm at it. Oh and the weird pliers for the chain link

Pop in at EVO-Bikes, outside D'Urbanville.

wide range of tools, Parktools if you want to spend money, or even a real cheap chain-breaker that will do the job at home.

be warned .... you may go again and again ....

Thanks.  Been watching YouTube for "some time" now .... one video leading to the next and the next ...

interesting how the pros start their maintenance with a proper cleaning.

Road bike cleaning -

Mountain bike cleaning -

PS - DO watch the second video as well ... it answers some questions arising out of the first -

and then the one I really like - PARKTOOL washing a MTB -

Still to watch these two -

MTB maintenance -

How to build a home workshop -

Yup definitely better to work on a clean bike...at least you can see what's going on without the dirt obscuring your vision. Same applies to anything mechanical...ala cars :D

JIP !

The little one is taught that after each trail we wipe down the bikes and give a quick check-over.  NOT that it is needed at such short intervals, but I want the principle to sink in while he is young.
