Guess which bits were into the wind.

Yup, that was intense! Awesome fun though! Glad everyone stayed upright. Some tricky off-camber corners.

Here's mine across four different race categories... kiddies, youth/Open, ladies and 50+ before the pain in 30-49. Decided against trying to get the Elites on video.

Winner of the open group had a Normalized power of 320 watts

Mine were

Avg Speed 40.9

Max Speed 52.6

Avg HR 180

Max HR 197

Avg Power 242

NP 270

Max power 799

Got caught out being in a rubbish position for the sprint so didn't really go for it.

This time, open class again:

Ave speed 40.0

Max speed 54.6

Ave HR 183

Max HR 192

Ave power 249

Np 281

Max power 1081

I tried a break to get third place half way through the last lap, but got caught and ended up 10th or so.

Then for the hill climb:

Ave speed 21.9

Max speed 34.6

Ave HR 181

Max HR 191

Ave power 325

Np 327

Max power 556

This gave me 5th place.

Again, a really good event and I hope this becomes more than a once a year series!

Baby steps... lots of work required. Let's get the 6 events working smoothly and the grow it from there. Already better than 2016 where we only have 4 events (run separately).

Results are currently the biggest challenge.

At least something is happening!

Sheesh thats a cardiologist's dream profile!!!!!!!!!!!

How you survived that?

Surprisingly well. I have been doing a few slower rides with the wife, this year. My heart rate hasn't been that high in at least twelve months. Guess that made me well rested and fairly fit, though not super strong yet.

Thanks @Frosty! Got any more from the Vets 30 - 49?

Yes, I do - will be posting more during this week, including some short video clips from the GoPro (vibrations and all). Work is keeping me busy though, so it'll be in drips and drabs

I recorded some of the "action" in the Open Men race on my GoPro. But with me being at my limits just to hang on at the back it is not in the thick of things, so I kept it short, just one lap of footage:

I hoped to put up similar footage, but instead of starting the video recording, I took 8 burst photos of Fred's (from GM Wheelers) backside while we were still standing...

I will hopefully record the next race (until I get dropped).
