Ineedabike Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Hi I will be travelling to SA in August and hoping to do a race at Sun City. Is there anyone in Johannesburg who is kind enough to loan me a mtb (L). I live in Austria and don`t want to take my bike with me.

rudi-h Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 to be honest... with MTB's being the expensive pieces of kit that they are these days, borrowing a bike on here is almost like asking a complete stranger to borrow a car for a holiday. no offence, but I have maybe two friends to whom I'll lend my bike and that's only in very specific circumstances. you can mess up a bike quite heavily in an MTB race if you fall, ding rims or abuse the gears etc. or it can even be stolen off your car... so the potential loss/risk unfortunately doesn't justify the act of goodwill. as with the suggestions above, just rent and most of all, enjoy your race!
