Are these common and readily available.?

Checked most of the local online sites without luck.

Thought I'd ask here before calling the lbs.

Thx.

There have plenty in stock at Cycle Lab Four Ways. Bought some there on Saturday.

Thx - the Cape Town branch is probably the bike store furthest from me, but if all else fails, then I'll give the a shout.

Take normal tube and cut the valves out with little bit of tube left, personally had more luck sealing these than dedicated tubeless vales.

Been thinking of doing this for a while. Have 3 old roady tubes I've now carved up and saved the valves after cutting them with like 30mm tube left both sides of valve. No need to do a TL yet, but will attempt next time.

Been warned to watch out because the valve can be blown through the rim hole but assume this can be circumvented with the 30mm either side and placing this under and not through the rim tape. Using Gorilla tape as I do I think it should work.

Will have to use the valve screw on the outside to hold the valve in place while inflating.

That said, I think it must work.

Never done road bike conversion, so cannot really comment on that, but with 5 bar (Seating the tyre) on MTB  its a non issue . I just leave about 10mm of tube around stem (oval to fit into rim) and put in after making hole in gorrila tape.

Also referring to MTB conversion, just using road tubes as they have longer valve stems. So you confirm you don't put it UNDER the tape but as per normal. Interesting. Will keep that in mind when I finally get to do it. Thanx

I wrap tape on rim, make hole in tape at valve hole, stick valve in, put little nut on other side..

Seems CPT no longer has a Cyclelab.
