Will a XT alternative Pedal Sell?

The problem with Shimano, and especially their XT range is a super dooper, I will rather eat my own toenails than change, loyal client base.

Trying to break into that market segment will be like trying to launch a privately imported alternative to CocaCola.

Pedals are one of those things you buy once every 3 years (if that often). I am the first one to look for budget options, but pedals fall in the same class as saddles for me, I will rather spend the extra $$$ and have the peace of mind than try to save and having to buy again 6 months down the line.

The Chinese make a look alike Bakkie to the Amarok as well. I don't know if it has sealed bearings, but I won't touch it with a barge pole.

Neither will I buy a look alike XT. I'd rather get 540s or 520s if I'm snoep. Between mine and Wifey's bikes we have shimano XT, 540, 530 and 520 pedals.

They last forever if looked after, and being user serviceable I give them a bit of love every 6 months or so. All still on the original bearings. The one pair is 6years old already. Can't do that with sealed bearings....
