If I was in the market for a ridiculously expensive pair of wheels, that would improve my performance by a near-negligible margin (which I'm not), then I would still take the LEWs over the Lightweights.

I don't know Jules, The reviews of the LEW's I have seen have been good, but not great.

The Tour magazine shootout between LEW VT1, Lightweight std3  & Mavic CCU was won by the Mavic, Lew came 3d. (edit - LEWs were the lightest, but most expensive of the 3)

If I were in the market for deep sections for SA races, I would probably go for Zipp. For climbing wheels, I lean towards the Lightweight clinchers.

For a general all round wheelset, a custom build: 2008 Edge 38 rims, sapim spokes, some nice hubs.
