I did not shoot any one at Kentucky..yet:p

I think it's must've happened around 9-10? not sure.

I was thinking along the same line Re: a weapon but something not as hectic, chech the link: http://www.airrifles.co.za/pistols_multi.html

They use small Lead, Copper or a combination of the two Pellets. You can kill small animals with it so it should make your attacker hurt some.. I hear if you get him between the soft part between the ribs it'll go thou the skin into the organs.

That was 1 isolated case not an ongoing thing!

I just love this reply, we are actualy living in a war zone. When you get out of suburbia people are living in a jungle war.

I live here casue of the weather, but when it gets more hectic, I will find someother place with good weather. I cannot risk getting pissed off one morning and taking out a load of people in a hail of bullets when I am riding and have to go to a jail in SA.

I have some empathy, but lets face it, it is everyman for himself , family and imediate friends

If you think SA is any worse than say Brazil or Sudan or Iran or Bosnia or any other place where you have a high proportion of poor people to wealthy people then you are kidding yourself.

The point I was making was that people (including those in well off parts of the world) will rape, pillagem, steal and murder if they decide it suits them and that they can get away with it.

ANYBODY have those hotspots on their list of places to go to and die?  Not me, when I think hotspots I try to think of somewhere hot and full of beautiful people and good coffee...

Marius that is a real shame.

A perfect opurtunity to take out the slaughterer of fouls!

In fact they take potential nourishment and turn it into nuclear waste., Back to a serious side though, I am having more and more issues with drivers. I darent stop at a red light cause I am worried that somebody will bliksem me. At least if I am riding I am a moving target.

If you do shoot anyone, make sure they are dead and empty the mag.

you must kill

do not maim someone that they can talk.  You need a weapon that will remove organs, not just get through to them.  If there are passengers in the car, take them out too.

You dont need somebody laying a charge.

Aggressive retaliation by any means possible, is the only way to survive these cowards. They will always hit soft targets, but as soon as they come against some resistance they wil turn and run.

this was taught to us in the army when training for patrols into Angola. When you get ambushed, stand your ground and fight, they will run.

That was in the army you might say, when we were young and single, now we are older and married with a family and have far to much to lose, should we get killed.

Well any attack on me i asume i'm gonna get killed anyway, so i got more to gain by standing my ground.

Have gun, will cycle, will not run!!!!!!!

Can you remember the story of the MTBer that was shot in Gauteng. He was carrying a gun and he managed to shoot the guy that shot him. The second guy got away though and the MTBer had to run for the road to get help.

They charged him for murder if I recall, but he got off.

Just trying to work out the most inconspicous method of packing a shotgun,

The MTBer who defended himself was Daan van Niekerk. He did his last ride in South Africa with my Biltong (40+) team at the Southern Skies 24hr.

They have gone to Ozz... (another story)

Obviously we talked about the incident after it happened. He was pretty traumatised, despite the fact that it turned out OK. After this I noticed all sorts of odd bulges in the pockets of the guys on our rides and one morning in Irene I decided to ask who was packing heat - 7 of the men on our ride!!!! Interestingly Daan never carried a gun again after this incident. He felt it made him less careful than he might have been, and did not want to be in the situation where he used it ever again.
