Hi all.

I'm brand new to mountain biking and this forum, so i'm looking to get started off.

I'm interested in the cross country side of mountain biking. What's a good new or 2nd hand bike that can get me into things? Also, hardtail or dual suspension for cross country as a beginner?

Consider a 29'er.

 

Maybe a Silverback Spectra/Sola or Spez Rockhopper? Know a rider who has done C2T and Transbaviaans on his Sola. Has ridden through 3 groupsets already. Many reliable km's.

Looks like a solid option, and it has an air fork. That for me will be a major bonus.
