The sad thing is that I have driven behind my fellow cyclists many times and some of them did not have rear lights, but I still see them!

 

There has never been a case where I did not see a cyclist I was approaching and it has never taken up more than a minute of my time to hang back and wait for a opportunity to pass safely!

I noticed one of those white bikes had been chained there at the spot where he had passed away.

 

When I rode past there this morning the saddle and a few other parts have been stripped of it.
