Hi Folks,

Do I need to have done a seeded race before the 947 Challenge road race?

I'm riding a 29er mountain bike with Chaoyang Zippering tubeless tyres, what is the maximum pressure I can pump them for tarmac? (No I am not going to put slicks on.)

No seeding race needed.

As for tyre pressure. Check the sidewall. But I reckon around 2.6bar "should" be safe

I rode with my wife last year and decided to take the mtb. I rode my tyres on 4 bar. No issues and rolled well.

You don't need a seeding to race, but without a seeding you will start right at the back somewhere around 10. If you can get into a charity or corporate bunch you're starting time will be somewhere between 8 and 9, which makes a big difference in the heat.

Tyre pressure, just check manufacturers website for both wheel rim and tyre.  Most will be able to go to 4 bar, but just check.  Harder the better when on the road

On the sidewall it only gives a recommended pressure of 300kPa (3Bar). On the manufacturers pages it doesn't give any specs either.

I will go with a bit less than 4 then.

I'm o.k. at the back, that way no one can overtake me.

Thanks guys!
