Helmet painting

Hi everyone,

So I have a helmet (Bell event XC mips) that I'm rather fond of.

It's the black/white model as I couldn't find the plain black model in stock anywhere when I purchased it.

Does anyone know/recommend anyone who would be able to paint/wrap it to make it plain black?

Does anyone have any recommendations to doing this or not?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Generally a bad idea as many paints are solvent or oil-based and will simply eat away at the Styrofoam.

If you have the patience to wrap then you could try that, but will be very frustrating with lots of trial and error, and a heat gun which is essential for wrapping is also not a good idea to use.

If you are really determined, take the time to mask the helmet so that only the plastic out shell is exposed and then use some PlastiDip spraypaint. This dries into a stretchy rubber compound that can simply be pealed off without damaging the original surface. Had this stuff on my motorcycle helmet and it held up pretty well.

Check on youtube, people try all kinds of crazy stuff all the time...

There is a local company the specialises in hydrographic printing (water transfer painting).. Amazing stuff, but it will cost.

I'd link the company, but can't recall their name, a google search should turn it up.

Edit: I should really read the other posts before posting...

I've did some interesting stuff a while back with black Plastdip/Flexidip and gold leaf.

Plastidip/Flexidip is a thin spray on, durable rubber, that's removable as well. If I'm not mistaken it comes in Matte and Gloss.

Its just a headache masking all the vents
