Storing an mtb upside down

Hi All

Will it do any damage to my mtb if I store it by hanging it upside down from its wheels (using hooks) from the roof of my garage?

I've been storing my bike like this for close to a year now and I haven't had any issues, but someone (not a mechanic) at one of my local bike shops told me the other day that apparently this is not ideal. He couldn't tell me why though so I cannot help but to assume that it is something he heard from someone else who probably also doesn't know why...

Your advice would be appreciated as I wouldn't want to damage my bike unnecessarily.

Thanks

Think it has to do with certain forks as well as the brakes.

The forks because certain designs might increase the chances that the oil leak into the upper chambers. (noob like explanation)

And for the hydrolic brakes, suspect there is a chance that any potential airbubbles might transfer closure to the brake calipers.

I read on here that it is good to rest your bike upside down from time to time to allow the shock oil to seep back into the upper wipers so it does not dry out....

I would not actuate the brake lever when in the upside down position though!

I read that too (that's actually what made me think about what I had been told about storing the bike upside down), but if I recall correctly, that post suggested you turn your bike upside down for 15 minutes. What I'm talking about is storing the bike upside down between rides, which may be days..
