Wider Rims

I am in the market for a set of rims on my Mountain Bike.

My apologies if this is a silly question!

 

I now see the the latest thing is wider rims. Now some places talk about inner width and some talk about outer width. Currently I have standard sise rims on my bike. What is the width of the wider sise rims?

27mm all the way up to 35mm for MTB would suffice and up from that you run into Plus size tires and then into fat tires.You always look at the internal figure.

Go with 27mm or 30mm

If anyone on this thread has a set of NARROW 29er wheels lying around after upgrading to wide ones, please PM me as I need a set of narrow ones for a charity build.

If you have wide rims you must also have wide tyres.
