You are never too pro to wave

As a rule I don't wave to everybody when I'm on my bike, as I don't wave at every car when I'm driving or every other pedestrian when I'm out for a walk. Except maybe when I meet you on a deserted piece of singletrack, at which stage I'll greet you politely. I feel everybody is entitled to personal space, even in the outdoors. But I'll always wave back if you've gone to the trouble to greet me.

What irks me more though is when certain cyclists have no common decency - there is a certain type. Often when out riding with the missus and things take a bit longer than usual, I'll make an obvious effort to allow faster riders or KOM hunters to pass which, let's face it, can be a ding in the ego. In a case like this where someone makes an effort to let you pass, just acknowledge it maybe with a quick "thanks", a nod or lifting a hand. It tells the other person you appreciate the gesture. No need to be a box pretending you own the trail just because you're going faster at that point.

Little rant off, flamesuit on...

Don’t think you need a flame suit, posts makes tons of sense ????????

Oh dear..

Nice bump, could this be the genesis of a Friday barney ?

Is Goya Goya a huge fan, family member of Mr Froome?

Patch isnt a fan, family member of Mr Froome?

Or one has Asthma and one does not, or do they both but are unaware of the others predicament.

Or, did Patch just make a joke that some people dont like.

Hmmm,

Happy Friday all !!

It's the first week of Jan and I'm back at work.. I shall stir wherever I can!

So to start us off:

I've never met Froome, but I don't like him all that much and I really don't like Sky. No justifiable reason, just seems to be the cool thing to do now.

I don't have asthma, but would like to try out a pompie just for fun.

I actually have a bit of empathy for the guy. I have said before that I think he gets MORE than his fair share of crap. People around him keep going pop, but the media and us, like to have goes at him.

BUT, that was just a joke, because we should all be able to joke about things, even the things we support.... hyper sensitivity, micro aggressions, safe spaces.... all words that make the world a kakker place

Most pompies are for fun.

If my physical makeup does not allow me to compete with the top echelons of the sport, should I be allowed to take medicine to make that happen?

If you suffer from Asthma, are you supposed to be competing at Pro level?

If my heart is weak, should I be allowed to take medication to enable it to perform at Pro level?

Perhaps this is the right place for that argument.

Must say, I thought was very funny, not to say that I think that Asthma is funny as it must be terrible to live with and very scary for sufferers.

In the context of Froome and recent events though, joke was funny.
