Are any of the Stellenbosch area trails open after dusk?

Yep- Jonkershoek is always good & safe for night rides.  

Also- the G-Spot & Eden trails- but wouldn't ride alone at night there.

Thanks alot - how do you get access to Jonkershoek - does the hut at the gate stay open?

nope- but the gate for bikes does, people often riding and trail running at night. I'm usually in before it closes, think its 19:00 in summer, and then ride till about 21:30. I had an annual permit, so not sure how it works with dailies after hours.

Great - one last question.  Where is safe to park for night rides?  Is the car park OK or do you ride from town?

Always parked at the car park and never had problems. Often seen cop vans patrolling there - but at the end of the day -TIA

Done few night rides in Eden, no issues.  Or I simply did not see any, to focused on the small patch of light 

 

Boschendal have every last Tuesday? of the month a night ride .. 30th I think is next ..

attitude cycles have nights rides in brackenfell/bottlery hills ever Thursday night from 6pm

distance and route vary, but the do supply a back up car for security and basic technical assistance

Jonkers is great.

Noshow, a Jonkershoek SRA patrol vehicle makes its turn at the Jonkers parking area every 30 mins or so and is pretty good at chasing riffraff away. Just don't you now come play doof-doof music after your ride!

Went up to Jonkers last night for a quick spin.  Had to come back a bit early but what an awesome place to ride!  Thanks all for tips.
