Admits to bundu bashing rather than picking lines through potholes and around cats eyes and blames the equipment for all the punctures.....

You think going tubeless will change that or just give you a little more leeway?

Remember, tubeless doesn't eliminate punctures, it merely reduces your chances of puncturing as does some of the other common sense tips already shared by others.

Don't get me wrong, I'm also giving tubeless a go but reserving judgement until I've clocked up some more kms.

Keep in mind that tubeless tyres can also be quite expensive with limited options available locally.

Most are higher end race type tyres which don't give great mileage.

Hoping for the leeway, don't think I blamed the equipment.

A good option would be to go for bigger tyres, if you can, like cross or gravel tyres.

One example: https://www.evobikes.co.za/tyres/road-tyres/schwalbe-g-one-microskin-tl-easy-700-x-35c.html

That should reduce the chances of getting punctures from hitting things if they cannot be avoided.

But that would most likely mean a new bike, or frame at the least.

You could be lucky of course, but a lot of frames don't have enough space for such big tyres.

I rode over 9500kms last year and had one puncture.  I look where I ride, avoid potholes, cats eyes, glass and general debris on the road.  And that is riding with GP4000 and not Gatorskins.

i actually had more punctures (2) on my IDT wheel than on my road/training wheels.
