Still standard even the tyres are original Shimano 105 sti groupset , Columbus Cromor frame, Campagnolo rims Bought it new in 1993/4 only done about 1000km , been in storage till today Thank you Francois
DJR Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 Hi Compuclan From the picture it appears to be in fantastic condition. Le Jeunes were designed and made by Francois Du Toit in Cape Town. They are good solid bikes and although they are not as collectable and valuable as some big name old Italian steel bikes, they have a lot of value for the right person. From a historic perspective, they are part of the now sadly departed South African bike building days of the 1970s to the early 1990s. If you want to sell it, you will definitely find a buyer. The question is at what price? I would say somewhere between R3500 and R5500 depending on whether it is 100% original and in as pristine condition as it appears in the pictures. I don't know where you are based, but if in Cape Town, Niels Hansen of Woodstock Cycle Works is the man who would be able to give you the best advice on value. Except for perhaps Francois Du Toit, nobody knows his Lejeunes like Niels. B.t.w. It will make a great ride for the Tour of Ara or for Eroica South Africa (with the addition of downtube shifters).
