A while back I asked for some help in my quest to find a carbon road bike for <R20k. I got some good advice and a couple of offers and in the end I ... failed miserably in the endeavourTongue.

Instead, courtesy of some good deals on the Hub, great prices from Totalcycling and some rather useful bikeshop contacts, I present my new, slightly more than R20k, carbon road bike: Clap

Quick rundown of the components:

Chorus groupset and Record crank courtesy of Totalcycling

Campagnolo Scirroco wheels and Eurus racing wheels courtesy of the Hub

Frame, ITM Visia bars, seatpost and stem courtesy of Finishline Cycles

Arione saddle and Look (French, I know) Keo pedals courtesy of Edman's private collection.

A big thanks to Montblanc and The Crow for the wheels - a pleasure doing business with you.

A really big thank you to Clint and Arthur at Finish Line Cycles for the excellent prices, friendly service, advice and cookies. Kempton Park's rather far away from me, but my weekly pilgrimmages during the build-up to getting the bike were never a drag Thumbs%20Up

Looks good Edman!!! Just keep in mind that Barlow Team is racing Bianchi's with Shimano ....

I had thought of that, but it conflicts with my sense of proper style. It's rather like giving Samurai Katanas to the Roman Praetorian guard: it has the potential to be cool, but it just doesn't work somehow!

I went with the 58cm frame. I'll be tweaking the setup over the next few rides, but I already feel less stretched out than on my Merida.

I get a big grin whenever I ride the bike. I think it'll take quite a while before that wears off Big%20smile
