Eugene, going for anything to the SRAM way of changing gears takes some getting used to, BUT it's worth every cent!!!!!  The 'hoodies' on the "STi's" are more comfortable than Campy and Shimano.  The rest, hmmmm, no diffs really.  If I were you I would wait for another month or 6 and get the 2009 Rival.  All carbon ala Red and Campy.

I have a Brand New, still in the Box SRAM Rival Groupset that I'll happily let go to a Hubber for R5450 - remember, no postage to pay, no Customs to clear, no VAT to pay on top......

- Crank Arm is 172.5

- Front d?railleur is braze on - but I'm sure they can be converted with a      retro order clamp (feel free to confirm if this is correct)

- Chain and cassette are PC1070

Pictures to follow - will be in the Classifieds shortly

This thread really got me thinking...

I went on SRAM's web site and got the weights of the components (for the weight weenies):

Rival   shifters             340g

            Rear dr             188g

Front dr            88g braze on 105g clamp

            Crank               854g

            Calipers            287g

I think this makes it about 100g lighter than Ultegra.

So in terms of value for money it is very good if it retails at R6000.  Can anyone comment about availability of spares?  Can you use shimano chains and cassettes with it?
