Help with a possible next bike

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing lekker,

Okay, I want to get myself a new bike and I think I have found the one. The only thing that scares me, is the fact that it will be a long distance deal, so I want to know from you guys:

- Does any one know the seller or can vouch for him?
- Is there anyone close to his area who can go and check the bike to make sure it is all the real deal?

It is a lot of money to move and I am saving up to get engaged and married to my amazing yet surprisingly supportive girlfriend so this can't go wrong or else I will be running on the track with my tekkies, that is the closest I will get to mtb'ing for a long time.

It's a sweet deal that. I paid nearly that for my frame.

 

1st Prize. trip to KZN, try bike, buy bike, ride KZN. A weekend well spent.

2nd: Chat to the guy and perhaps a LBS as a mediator.

Dont know the seller unfortunately, parting with that kinda cash on a person with 0 posts is a "no go" in my books unless you take a drive down to go and see then do the deal face to face.

If that bike is what it's advertised to be then you are getting a good deal. Enough so that I would make the trip myself if I were you...

 

The guy is probably legit, but 25k is alot of money to part with without checking out the bike first.

 

Hopefully a well known hubber from KZN shows up on the thread soon...

Yeah I was thinking of also driving down there it is only 5 hours not bad at all. I was just hoping someone would be close enough to check it out for me, would also save a few bucks.

I did arrange with the guy and he will keep the bike for me for 2 weeks so I will drive there next weekend and check it out.

You guys don't know of anyone looking for a sweet Giant Trance 2 with a few upgrades?
