Took the Lauf True Grit for a ride !

Been lurking for too long so here is some info on the Lauf True Grit....! Dave is a long time friend that came to visit family in Stellenbosch from Kansas, and stayed over with us for some 3 weeks. With him he brought with the latest offering from Lauf, the True Grit, a carbon fiber gravel racer !

 

We took it to Bloemendal on one of the night rides....and I got a first ride on it ! All I can say is ..Stunning ! I would never believe that you could take a racing bike frame through a single track at the speed this thing moves ...this one weighed less that 8kg !!! and the acceleration is gob smacking... climbing the long drag back up to the top entrance was a non event. I took it through the pump-track and promptly bettered my time on strava.  (I have a dual suspension Felt NC). We also took it through the Fair Cape loop entering from Aderly Rd side and it took everthing in its stride with Dave at the controls (Dave is a big oke... all 140kg of him)

 

Now I can imagine this bike on the Karoo2coast, To Hell and back, Ceder berg 100 miler, it will be fast....very fast. If I had the bucks this would be in my stable pronto

Such a cool bike, been drooling over it on social media for a while now. Unfortunately gravel bikes are a non-starter for me with a bad back - but I can see the apeal! This would be no.1 on my list if I were in the market.

Yes Dave does not do cleats, he maintains flat pedals is the way....????

I need/want/must have one but simply cannot afford this fork.  

On wish list for the moment until something cheaper comes up.
