Stupid ass question regarding Race Tags

Can anyone give me a low down on the race tags we get in SA? I did the 94.7 last year, and think that was racetec? but now just registered for Juma, and that is SAS? 

 

Will each rider have two tags? Does 94.7 use the SAS for seeding?

No you will end up with 2 or more tags, they use PPA and Racetec for seeding.

Different races use different timing systems.

The main system is Racetec. You also get Championship Timing and SAS.

 

Each one has it's own tag / chip that you will need to use for that event, based on who is doing the timing

If you have a Racetec and a SAS board you should be sorted for the most part.

 

As far as I know the Nissan Trailseeker also uses SAS boards.

Racetec seem to be coming to the MTB party with permanent number boards:

 

From the Garmin MTB Classic 2018 page "This event is timed using the RaceTec permanent MTB Board!"
