Age Cats are crazy.

I really think this needs a change. How does a guy who produces 1.5w/kg feel after a race where the winner is a 4w/kg. Do you think the 1.5 guy will be back? I doubt it.

Anyways not my issue. But if you want to grow this format in South Africa perhaps one could look at the reasons why w/kg groups were created in the first place.

goes both ways. Age groups you compete against the people you race against in real life races. It just promotes one to chase and try to get to the same level in the races

w/khg groups. agree totally this format also but then again if you want to stay in that spec cat then they must change it.

I for one prefer the age groups as it changed me totally a few years ago where I was one of the lowest in my age cat and took that as a motivation to become one of the stronger riders, not fastest but can def hold my own against most in the country and it includes elites. So yes that was my mind said to achieve it where the age cat was the reason behind it

Complete fail last night - I ran out of data on my internet connection 10 min into the race and got kicked off  :cursing:  It started even before the ride when I was delayed in joining the session and got put in as the race started.

Ah well was fun trying to catch up to everyone and I made good ground until internelessness got me down.

Well done to all anyway!

The results from last night!

Was some great racing all around. Lots of people doing PR's and even resetting their FTP (so as we've always said, this is great training!)

Well done once again to William Hans who was the first ZAFFA (and in all probability was first overall). Well done also to the first lady across the line,Odette Guy, who came 17th overall (and who also taught me a lesson and put 50 seconds into me on the final climb.....)

Next week we are aiming for a flat or flatish course back on Watopia.
