Aero Bike: disc or rim brakes?

The upside is seeing cool, exotic bikes - the downside is that it is cheating...

Hmmm is the Jock a CSA sanctioned race?

It is, but bike specific rules aren't applied to alphabet soup racers. For example, "I rode in A at 947 on my mtb with knobbies" would until very recently have been against the disc brake rule yet has been happening for years.

If he was in elite or age category he could get into trouble. If he podiums and gets prize money you can bet the guy behind him would ask for his bike to be weighed.

I was about to say cheating is cheating then realised I did, in fact, ride my mtb with knobblies in the A bunch. Doh.

I'm going to go with "advantageous cheating" is wrong because you know rules apply to other people

Disc for sure, rim brakes will be like drum brakes in cars in years to come.

I am busy with my new Venge 2019 build which will be around 6.8kg when complete - tubeless and with 28mm wide tyres

There was a guy at the Jock on a Storck with lekker wheels, some carbon crankset and even lightweight (as in brand) bottle cages.

This bike was sub 6kg and had to be tied down when not ridden as it would otherwise float off into the sky

What category was he racing in?
