your go to action at a Roundabout

As a rule of thumb vehicles are generally a lot harder and heavier than me, which is why I stay off the road, but when I do have to venture into a road I look to see where there is the least potential trouble by staying way left, but I agree with the problems of the road conditions on the verge. Rather stay away, road riding ain’t for sissies!

Seeing as only those former British colonies (and NZ and Ireland) drive on the left... One might argue that that is the incorrect side

An interesting one is Mozambique which although was colonised by Portugal like Angola, drives on the left because all the cars came from South Africa

Fun fact!. In fairness... There are a number of African countries like Tanzania zim Botswana etc.. As well as India... that drive on the left too.. But the majority around the world are right hand side drive countries

Apologies if this is a slight de rail.

At the weekend I saw a Bakkie covered with some stickers of mini roundabout signs and comments with the biggest one the back stating that mini roundabouts are fhe same as four way stops.

I was a bit taken back as I learn't to drive in England where they are everywhere and we use them in pretty much the same way as any roundabout. Because there are relatively few mini roundabouts I have often thought people are a bit confused by them so whether I'm in my car or on my bike I am very careful. Then I found this website which certainly looks like this Bakkie driver isn't the only one to think this way. I would be interested in hearing thoughts of those who learnt to drive here.

Two types of circles:

1 - mini roundabout/traffic calming circles. These are treated as intersections. First to arrive have right of way.

2 - classic roundabouts. Yield to vehicles from the right.

Ok,

I'm not at all wishing to argue just seeking clarity.

Here is an example; I'm at a mini roundabout with four exits and along with several other cars/bikes I'm turning right. Then at some point a car arrives at the opposite exit and wants to take the same exit (turning left). The arrive alive website states that you give way to any car that crosses the yield line but our procession is preventing that car from moving over the yield line so the first to arrive rule (which I can't find on the arrive alive or dept of transport department websites) is irrelevant. That car would simply have to wait for our procession to pass.

Interesting..I always treated them as roundabouts. Here in Ireland that are treated like that... But then they don't have 4 way stops either

For a while I was thinking I might be the only one.
