Moscow juve game shaping up nicely. 1 - 1 after 14 minutes

Lol

I had to laugh..Ronaldo almost almost scored his first Free kick for us..Ramsey snuck it off the line and so scores his first UCL goal since 2015 *or something like that*..what a steal[emoji23][emoji23]

Lucky...

Over all probably our worse performance of the season.(first half in any case)..some injuries (De Ligt), suspension (Cuadrado) and illness (Dybala has a tummy bug but did come on for the last 10min.. Matuidi rested perhaps.. changes to the starting lineup

BUT

beautifully worked goal from Douglas Costa to get the win..The Flash is back and boy how good is it to have him back from injury.

And with that win we are through to the round of 16.

Job done.. not pretty..but job done..

Aaaand exhale.

Yeah. It promised a lot but was lacklustre. Second goal was ace.

We had a very poor first half..second half was better more control over the game. Personally I don't want my team to play where the game is open that means we have no control over the game and means the midfield isn't working the way it should..

Apparently the first time since 2008/09 that we have qualified for the knockout so early..so that's a good thing.[emoji106]

But yeah sometimes things happen hey.

Lol this round was crazy..

Ederson off injured, Bravo sent off and Kyle Walker ends up in goal.. City draw 1-1.. pity Atalanta couldn't get all three points....but they'll take the point...what a great result for them.. a team with such a small budget..

AND once again...........

Arsenal had the majority of the possession only to still be outplayed on the pitch and then throw away a lead to end the game as a draw against a so called "weaker" team.  :cursing:

I don't know what happened to him. He was such a fresh breath of air when he arrived but now he has become an apple-polisher and its weakened everything in our team. Yes our defense use to suck, now everything sucks, even though on paper we should be in the top 3 with the front three we have at our disposal.

When we get knocked out of the Europa league, I foresee him getting the boot as that is the only way we can get into Champ's football again. Definitely not top 4 anymore.

OZIL is sorely missed.. front three can't do much if the midfield can't provide the opportunities going forward and controlling the midfield on the turn which then results in the defense being under crazy amount of pressure..

Sad looked promising when he took over..

Will be watching Arsenal very closely Saturday. A loss and I suspect you are right, top 4 will be impossible.

Wenger should be apologised to

The problem is that Emery is playing people out of position, this past wkn he finally selected Ozil but played him on the wing and left Pepe out.  Then puts a natural DM as our box to box midfielder. His decision making is really bad this season.

Here i disagree. AW did well with what he had at his disposal but he too was making bad selection & substitution choices but i think it was the right time for him to leave. We became stale under him the last 5 seasons he was there. BUT he made the board happy and that's why he was there so long.

Change for the sake of change and no improvement or moving forward is well whats the point.

Unai was the brave new world, had enough time , has quality players, spends money and finishes around where Wenger did. One must begin to wonder if the problem is the manager or elsewhere in the structures. Critically and especially important is that he has scored less points than wenger did in 5 of his last 6 seasons and his tally last season was only better than 4 or 5 of AWs entire tenure.

I really have to question what his value has been. But one must give time i guess.

and yes, AW had been around long enough, change was needed.

Agreed... change was definitely needed. Wenger was not doing a bad job, but he also wasn't going to win things. I must admit I worry my own club might well fall into the same malaise, where top 4 is the goal, but hopefully not... time will tell I guess. This next transfer window should show where our ambition is at.

Nearly time to get in the jalopy and make our way down to Southampton stopping for a pint and lunch at the famous Saints pub, a real working class pub for working class hero’s as John Lennon said 50 years ago.

Then down to ground, think it will be a sombre affair with 11/11 until kickoff then I ope we eat toffees. Got a fiver on Saints ,pays 16 and got 2 quid on palace that pays 23. Imagine they both come in.

Pics to follow if signal ok.
