Garmin Edge 20 Battery

I have just asked Garmin for a replacement battery for a edge 20 unit only to be told they cannot supply. Basically they want me to send the unit to them to see if they can replace it from a service unit.

When I ask why they cannot supply a battery they give me the 1 year warranty nonsense. Basically I think they sold me a product which they decided not to support and even bring in batteries. The producer spec even says it has a user replaceable battery.

Does anyone have any ideas for a battery for these units - other than a import myself.

Garmin components (HR sensor, cadence etc.) take 2032 coin batteries.

The devices themselves (like the edge 20)has built in lithium batteries which cannot be replaced by the user, it has to be sent to Garmon for repair

All my Garmin products use a 2132 battery, dirt cheap

Are they rechargeable in the unit or do you just replace when running low

As stated by Fanie - The Edge unit itself does NOT have a user replaceable battery, the peripherals (sensors) do, and use CR2032 batteries...

You need to send it in. Thats it.

That unit cannot be more than 2-3 years old and needs a battery replacement? That sucks! My Garmin Edge 705 is now 10 years old, and I stil get 10+ hours of battery life out of it. I am also still on my original H/R monitor and GSC10 Speed/Cadence sensor.

have the same problem with my Edge25, cannot buy a battery (PD2430-C1 lithium rechargeable coin battery) it is very easy to replace if you can get the battery.
