Pic # 1:

I think it is a 104 BCD. I had to install 4 x washers to make the crank-bolts fit. With the outer ring missing the bolts are too long (didn't have short bolts).

Yep, that ring won't suit a 1x application unless you've got a great chain guide, and get rid of all those ramps and pins in the ring.

Get a 1x narrow wide ring. Problem sorted. And while you're at it, get the shorter studs. They're worth it.

As been said, a NW ring will probably solve your problem. All rds are adjustable, its that screw just to the left of the bolt where the rd attaches to the hanger seen in your last pic. Not sure if it will help though, maybe a little. If you still get lots of chain drops you might want to get a 10x clutch derailleur with cassette and shifter, they go for quite cheap these days on the hub. I would go with a sram roller bearing rd, it does everything itself and you wont even get chain slap let alone drops. With shimano you need to engage and disengage the clutch yourself and shifting seems to be stiffer when engaged. The crisp shifting of sram is also just much nicer than shimano in my opinion. Then lastly if you go that route consider a 42t cassette extender, then youll get the range of a 1x11 on the cheap

The Rapide NW comes with the spacer built in as part of the ring and it's threaded, so no new bolts needed.
