I have to travel to Nigeria for work, now for this I need to get a Yellow Fever shot.

I have heard that one gets sick from the shot itself and was wondering how long after the shot it lasts and would it be advisable/possible to train shortly after the shot?

we used to have them before going to the middle east - i think of all the guys all the times we had them only one of my guys had a bit of pain in muscles and a bit of swelling it lasted a couple of days wasnt serious .Medic said max side effects  he would feel crap ish for 10 days (he didnt)

all the panic is about the risk of being a one in whatever statistical risk of death from the vaccine (i dont think you will but they just have to say it )

Yes, you can train after the shot. Not everyone gets the flu after the shot!

I got my shot 2 years ago and cycled the next day, my only side effect was a dull pain in my arm that lasted for two days. Not cycling related.

If you feel a flu symptom coming on then obviously don't cycle.

I got the shot in  end Nov 2014, and wasn't told not to exercise, so 6 days later after getting back I cycled!
