MTB Mapugubwe and Heanartsberg

Travelling north from CPT to Mapungubew and Haenertsberg over the festive season.

 

I'm looking for recommendations on MTB routes in the two areas, which would need to be able to accommodate a 7 and 9yo when we go out together, and something longer if I go out on my own (nothing horrendously technical mind you )

 

Any advice welcome.

Visited the area last year

 

Mapungubwe I didn't bother with cycling - obviously you can't ride in the reserve and the outside didn't look particularly inviting either so for those days I just focused on wildlife & sightseeing with the family.

 

Magoebaskloof area it is actually a nice ride going down the pass on the bicycle and take the gravel road up again past the Debengeni falls. That was good enough for me back then but I'm sure there are proper trails around so maybe a local hubber can help
