The product has been paid for once already, so the products warranty should be in place for the noted warranty period stated at time of purchase, the same way a car would be.

My opening excitement stands, well done to Titan Racing for taking this on and standing behind their products!

Simply answer is, because they don't have to. Morality aside and good customer service aside, they don't have to transfer the warranty, so they don't. You didn't buy 1st hand from them directly and pay full price so they presumably couldn't be bothered to transfer it to someone who has not dealt with their brand directly.

which is very short sighted.

Lets say Mr X is just getting into cycling. He buys a 6 month old XYZ brand bike, something goes wrong so he approaches the manufacturer and gets told to sod off.

Mr X progresses in the sport and decides he deserves a new bike, now brand XYZ has told him in the past to sod off so he goes with brand ABC.

Had XYZ honoured the warranty MrX would more than likely have decided to buy XYZ again as they carry over the remainder of the warranty to the new owner.

There has to be some Ts & Cs in place with warranties though, people do the strangest things to their stuff and to expect a manufacturer to honour a warranty unconditionally is ludicrous.

Agreed, it should be, but that's not how the warranties seem to work on bikes. . .

I agree with your excitement, don't misunderstand me, but it won't change how the other brands operate unless they decide otherwise.

Agreed it's very short-sighted. But, I presume they have looked at this before and have decided that the loss of sales isn't worth the schlep of tracking who the bike get's transferred to and when.
