This is exactly right.

 

Stopping at a red light is a legal requirement, and being on a bicycle does not make one exempt. Anything short of stopping when required to is illegal and just plain stupid.

 

If you are the cyclist who thinks it's okay not to stop, you arent part of the problem, you ARE the problem.

Wait, OP..... Do the bushes cover the glowy light things?

 

Those are what tell you whether to stop or not. Not whether there is a car at said intersection....

 

I would suggest being more aware when you're out on the road.

 

It's a dangerous place to be with motorists not concentrating/on their phones etc

 

Being vigilant and not dying are largely in our hands.
