Peffa Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 It seems that the Magnet / Speedy cycle shop in Wynberg has closed. Is anyone aware whether they've moved or completely closed down? It would be a pity as they offered fantastic and professional service.

Kurt is a solid guy, would really hope he can keep the old school values shop going in a changing environment.I dunno if the merger with magnet/speedy to the wynberg location was the best move..i avoid that part of main road

It would be a pity as they offered fantastic and professional service. they have decided to close the shop. Their lease was up and the landlord wnted a big jump in rental. Kurt is now with Bridge Cycles in Diep River and his dad is happily retired.

My dad bought my first bike from them when they were still situated on the other side of Wynberg main Rd. They always delivered great service and never gave me "that look" when I brought a few packets from CRC for fitting. At least Kurt is still around :sad:

NC_lurker Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 They closed doors at the end of December, I was just able to get Kurt to service my bikes before the end. It was very sad to hear that they were closing, but it's tough nowadays to keep a small business going.
