Johan_Kleynhans Posted February 17, 2019 Share To race 50 miles you need to be able to train/ride 60 miles comfortably to start the conversation with.
KingZA Posted February 17, 2019 Share I'm not sure what sort of distance you're riding at the moment or what your goals are but to keep it really simple just slowly increase your distance until you're comfortable with the distance come race day. If this is for the Amarider 50 Miler then that race is 99% gravel roads so you should aim to ride that so far as possible. It also has a easy first half and then all the real climbing towards the end so try and structure your rides with the pain and suffering at the end! Leon O Posted March 18, 2019 Share On this topic, anyone done the K2C. What are conditions REALLY like for a first timer? The first 20 odd k's seems like the tester to complete?Obviously a lot of offroad rides required, and peak at least by mid August to do the full distance as exercise.BTW, We are doing our entry this week. Allrounder Posted March 18, 2019 Share 50 miles is 80km.... Have you done the Argus or 94.7 or something along those lines?
