Riding hours - fox suspension service

A wise man once told me to just ride my bike. Quit treating it like a baby, Its meant to be dirty.

But, washing it to often, especially high pressure hose.. lubing everything in sight often just has the opposite effect. It gets water in places where there shouldn't, and carries fine grit into these places with it.

Back to the point.. suspension:

A lower leg service is extremely simple ,1 hour max. It ensures the grit comes out of your fork, by lubing your dust wipers, you're just wetting the dust/dirt already trapped in there.

Leaving certain parts dirty creates unnecessary issues / friction on items like stanchions and chains. You don't have to clean the entire bike after a ride, but at least wipe off the stanchions and clean the chain if it was a dusty or muddy ride.

Ok the service needs to happen, ive been postponing a bit long. Does anyone have experience with cycle at lynnwood with suspension services? I always go there as they have great service with other things but i dont know if their price is too good to be true for suspension. Theyre charging 650 front and rear for full service excluding seals if needed. Phoned cogent (as they were highly recommended), but they charge 1500 per shock. Ouch. Should i just go to cycle at lynnwood? Or anywhere else without needing to sell a kidney? Pretoria area.

The price at Lynnwood is for a lowers service only on the fork and air can on the rear. Cogent will also ask R350-500 ,for a lowers service. Cogent's price you got is a full service (ie:damper service) where they will replace seals if need be.

Lynnwood do not do damper services - they send that to Omnico, where you will be charged the same as Cogent + a waiting period because it has to be couriered there.

No problems with Lynnwood at all for a lowers/50 hour service, but if you want a damper service done then I'd choose Cogent over Omnico any day of the week. Jacques did a reshim for me on my shock and fork that took it's performance to the next level! I highly reccommend them - they know what they are doing!

Where in Cape Town do you guys take your forks for a service?

Slight of topic; there was a guy on the hub who sold fork decals, anyone know who he was?
