Help on buying a new bike

Morning guys.

 

I know this question has been asked countless of times.

But I don’t want to make the wrong decision here.

I am looking at a new dual suspension bike, budget around R45K

Now my question is, what would be the best bike to buy.

I like doing races and want to try and take it up a notch. Did a couple of stage races and would be doing some this year.

 

I can get a Merida ninety six 7000 in my budget.

Is it worth buying or should I be looking at a Scott spark or maybe Cannondale?

 

I Know I should go for what makes me drool, but don’t want to drop 45k on a bike that might not be the best one

I can get a 2018 giant anthem advance 1 for the same money as the Merida.

Giant gets my vote - hands down. Their frame warranty alone is enough to convince me. Add to that the new frames are gorgeous and very well specced and you have a winner!
