If you want to run the shimano XTR cassette, you will need to change the free body on your hub. Only a few brands have this free body so it depends what hub you currently are using. If it’s compatible, you’ll need to get a new freehub, if it’s not, you’ll have to get a new compatible hub.

You need a new freehub, 12 speed xtr can only fit on microspline freehub and they only come on Shimano's new xtr hubs or limited Dt hubs

You can buy a DT Swiss MicroSpline Freehub body to go onto your existing DT Swiss 240 & 350 hubs.

(That might include Giant hubs as well... I think they are DT Swiss?)

Why not just get the new e13 12 spd cassette , will work with standard 11 speed freebody

You can always get the 12 speed XTR derailleur, shifter and chain. Then match it with a Sun Race 11t - 50t cassette. The cassette will fit your current freehub, and has almost the same range. The Sun Race cassettes are also very durable, just a little bit heavier than the XTR cassette, but way cheaper.

Remember to double check if you'll need a new hanger for the derailleur to be able to reach the 50t on the cassette.
