LBS and the correct torque settings

It's the whole circle really. Customers don't want to pay for professional mechanics so there are no (not many) professional mechanics and no (one or two) places that offer mechanics courses.

 

Right now in SA there are a handful of people I'd trust with my bikes.

 

DIY is the only way!

 

 

 

hmmmm maybe maybe not.

I pay R650/hr for the service on my car. That's a pretty technical piece of kit.

 

I pay R300/he for my bike which has some pretty technical parts on it.

However I know some shops are charging upwards of R400=R500 per hour and stuffing up the job, 

the former is acceptable to me. the latter not
