Thank you all for your inputs, fortunately for me it's not my bike to try and flog  :whistling:. I had a feeling that the bike won't be worth much more than 5-6k but I didn't want to go ahead and give an estimate of something I know very little about (The brand - Specialized).

I've been aware of the fact that the brain shock is very expensive to maintain but I did not know that it can break completely - thought it could be serviced up the wazoo  :D

Any how, I'm not going to get involved with this one, I reckon he needs to list it on OLX and sell it to the cousin of an oil rig worker

On the km front: I've only seen the bike once and the woman who owned it before this guy had it for about 3 years without riding it at all (she is in her 50's and had a back op as well as 2 knee ops).

They did buy it second hand so the first owner probably rode it more.

I have a medium 26" trail bike that I still ride. I am not even going to bother trying to sell it. My youngster is 9. He's currently on a 20" and within a few years he'll be big enough to swing his leg over it (He's vertically challenged) and then Dad can start shopping for a 1 or 2 year old bargain.
