Smart lights

So I'm interested in these smart led lighting systems. The wife wants me to get an electrician in to install some dimmers and I'm wondering if these smart lights aren't a better option. I have no clue where to start or what to buy.

I'm particularly interested in the GU10 and GU5.3 (MR16) downlights.

We have 3 separate circuits of downlights in our bedroom. 6, 6 and 3 lights per circut. Not too fussed about apps on the fone but I guess its a plus.

A remote that goes in the pedestal draw or something I can double side tape to wall next to light switch sounds more ideal.

Now I've seen quite a few options and my first question is. If I buy a bulb that comes with a remote. How do I control multiple lights with the same remote? So what do you have? Where did you buy it? What did it cost you and what is your experience?

Forgive me, I must just be an old bastid. Apps on the phone, remote stuck to the bedside table? What's wrong with a light switch? Apart from it being cheap, reliable and never needing to be charged or have a battery change!

Edit:

Oh, I forgot, the light switch is already stuck to the wall.

I'd be wary of some off brand smart lights to be honest. If all you need is a dimming function (and not so much a "smart" function), I'd just go for a dimmer. At least then you can just replace a globe when it goes at a fraction of the cost of one of these smart lights, and heck, by the time you need to replace then they might not even be available anymore.

Make sure that you buy dimmable downlights, though. And check the type of dim as well. Trailing Edge, vs Leading Edge.

Yeah, but dimmable LED downlights are expensive as hell!
