Can anybody please advise on decent helmets if you have a small budget available for gear?

What kind of riding are you going to be doing? Trail? XC races? Enduro? Marathon? Full downhill?

 

And what kind of budget do you have for a helmet? If you can try to get the best you can for your budget your head will thank you in a crash!

I think POC helmets fit v well and look good, not the lightest but suit the trails well.

You can get really well priced second hand ones , but just give it a thorough inspection for cracks or pressure dents obviously.

Pop down to Geko cycles opposite Cape Gate.  Have a look at the SCOTT helmets.

ive always like using these. They come in plenty of styles, are understated and do their job and you can mostly get them for under R1k. best part is you can use it for most outdoors activities without looking like a tool lol.

 

POC crane I think its called. I have 2, a black and a red one. think i got both on special last year for R1k
